Catherine Sutcliffe-Fuller

Each of Catherine's pieces starts as a spontaneous drawing that she works into a considered design, mainly along the theme of how nature tolerates man's presence. By combining both lino-cuts and etching on the same print, she is able to build up a number of layers. As each plate involves they reveal their own character, the contrasting effects are used to differentiate between man and nature. Catherine has recently had her work selected for the Royal Academy Summer Show as well as winning the 'Selectors Award' at this year's Ropewalk Print Biennale.

Debbie Loane

Debbie comes from a largely agricultural background. As a painter working with the landscape, she finds that she is constantly challenged to create work which acknowledges the romantic splendour of the Northern landscape, whilst at the same time being conscious that her work is rooted in the daily practicalities of rural life. Debbie finds that her work falls loosely into two categories – ‘landscape paintings’ in watercolour, pastel and oil and ‘drawings’, personal and subjective investigations into her environment using mixed media, normally more abstract in nature. Her work has proved popular in exhibitions around the U.K. and is an ever rising talent.

Emerson Mayes

Emerson is a Yorkshire born artist who has experienced that rarest of things: success both critical and commercial since the beginning of his career as a fine artist. From the day the now 38 year-old graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University in 1994, he has enjoyed a growing reputation for a fresh, honest and uncontrived approach to his work. Primarily known as a landscape painter, Emerson made the brave decision not to paint throughout 2010 and concentrate on his drawing and printmaking. To make this a 'clean break' he decided to take up the challenge of a totally new subject matter - that of the wildlife that surrounds him in the landscape where he works. Almost all of his work is completed within a stone's throw from his home in the heart of Nidderdale yet features in collections throughout the country and overseas. He has won numerous prizes and had sell-out exhibitions country-wide including Cork Street, London. For more information about Emerson please click here.

James Naughton

James Naughton is one the UK’s leading contemporary landscape painters and has exhibited extensively in London and across the UK. James pursued his childhood love of art to achieve a first class honours degree from the Leeds Metropolitan University in 1994. James has already enjoyed an extraordinary career as one of Britain’s most accomplished and sought after landscape painters. A James Naughton painting evokes an emotional experience, sometimes even a spiritual one, but he prefers not to attach exact locations to his work, preferring his painting to speak for itself and allowing the individual viewer his or her own personal dialogue with the image. With many sell-out exhibitions and awards under his belt, James is one of this country's most sort after painters. For more information about James please click here.

Stephen Taylor

A popular painter ever since he first started exhibiting his work, Stephen has recently moved back to his native North-West with his young family, after spending many years in London. Based in his studio close to the West Pennine Moors, means Stephen is once again immersed in the landscape that first inspired him to paint, and has given his current work a renewed sense of place and direction. Bruising skies and wind torn hillsides are themes that resonate throughout the paintings, but it is the passion with which the imagery is executed that reveals the true, emotional connection between artist and subject, resulting in some of his most exciting and accomplished work to date. His work has been exhibited widely in a number of major exhibitions, including the Discerning Eye at the Mall Galleries, London.

Erin Ward

'I use the landscape as a starting point; landscape here and abroad. Its form, colour and atmosphere. I don't usually work from sketches - just paint straight onto the canvas using my own photos for reference, working fast, using large brushes, rags and sometimes fingers to push the paint around until it forms a response that I'm after.'

Trained at Northumbria University, Newcastle: BA (Hons) Fine Art; Painting, Erin has exhibited in the UK and abroad, with work being held in private collections in London, North Yorkshire and Cyprus. A recent winner of the Leeds Fine Art Fair 'Exhibition Award,' Erin is certainly a emerging talent and one to watch in the future.
